Dear Potential Sponsor: Everybody wants to be associated with winners! This is especially true of companies trying to portray a successful image in their advertising and public relations efforts. This is why we are proud to offer a promotional tie-in with Sylvia Oberti. Sylvia offers your company the unique opportunity to promote your products while enhancing your image as a concerned corporate neighbor in an international neighborhood. A self-made, successful businesswoman, Sylvia is the first and only woman to solo and finish the historic international motor race, the Mille Miglia in Italy. She first accomplished this feat in 1992 and has competed successfully every year since, including her 10th solo race on May 2-5, 2002. The magical story of Sylvia and her little red SIATA was not only featured in the 70th Anniversary of the Mille Miglia book, but also in hundreds of articles and on television and viewed around the world. This singular achievement is as inspiring as it is unique because Sylvia has financed many of the last eleven years by herself, while at the same time raising over $750,000 for charity Often with no more than a 90-day time window to accomplish all public relations, mailings and the response has always exceeded the goal. Sylvia has also received sponsorship from American Express, Hunting World, and individual companies interested in assisting Sylvia race to the finish. She has been successful in achieving worldwide press in over 25 countries without a public relations staff or company to assist. Sylvia is most well known for her innocent but somewhat bold achievement in 1996 when she wrote a letter to the one person in the world that could make the biggest impact in cancer education without having to raise a dime. The Vatican accepted the invitation to include the cancer awareness educational information in over 80 countries. Sylvia mentioned in her letter, "no one is not related to a woman". Therefore, women with cancer are people you are related to, making the support, diagnosis and treatment - a family education problem. She was successful and creative in worldwide public education. Invited by the Vatican on May 1, 1996 she received an acknowledgement from Pope John Paul II and a blessing for all women with cancer and their families. On May 2, Sylvia was interviewed on Vatican Radio, and this interview was translated into 43 languages and broadcast to over 80 countries. The message for early diagnosis and treatment for women of any age was heard around the world. Sylvia would like to continue to use her racecar as a "true vehicle to deliver messages" to more families and raise money to eradicate cancer and support the agencies, schools, hospital programs further assisting the children, teenagers, women and men afflicted this dread disease. To accomplish this, Sylvia is seeking Corporate Sponsorship. As a businessperson, Sylvia understands that such sponsorship must provide real value to the sponsor and she is prepared to deliver that value. A relationship with Sylvia brings guaranteed press coverage from over 25 countries, visible advertising space on the car, driver, and crew, personal appearances of both car and driver, photo opportunities, electronic and print advertising options and additional tie-ins. Sylvia is much more than a "pretty face". Perpetually honored for her driving skills in the grueling and sometimes deadly 1000-mile races, she brings dedication and talent to this highly athletic endeavor, traits recognized by the Women's Hall of Fame, honoring her as The Outstanding Woman of the Year in Sports and Athletics in 1996. Sylvia literally captured the attention of the racing world and specifically the fans and organizers of the Mille Miglia with her courageous efforts since 1992. Crowned "Sola Sylvia" and "Belladonna" by the adoring fans, her fame has grown each year worldwide as she has brought a special style and grace to this predominantly male domain. The current plan is to utilize significant races to gain exposure for her life saving message and to provide an international vehicle for her sponsor(s). The World racing/rally events of importance include the following: Every month there are 1,000-mile events around the world. Countries like Argentina, Australia, Italy, France, Germany, England, Japan, New Zealand and in the USA - California, Colorado, Nevada, and New England.
